knitting into the night

This is a ball of yarn I made a few years ago. It is made out of fabric, lace, yarn, trims etc...all tied and knotted together.

Here is a knitted sampling of what this kind of yarn looks like. Now, isn't this simply delish.
And I really like knitting with the wooden needles....these are by Crystal Palace in a size 8, but I knit it loosely.

I don't think I am going to turn this into a scarf. I might just knit a few more rows and use it in one of my fabric pieces.
I am open to the possibilities it offers.

I actually think that this would look cool framed and under glass as wall art. Just a square of this, maybe even left on the needles would make its own little work of art without having to be functional (as in wearable). Well done!

That is YUM!

I absolutely LOVE this!

Great inventive use of materials we all have in abundance. Many thanks.

You should try bamboo knitting needles. They are so smooth and a delight to use. I've used plastic, metal and wood but bamboo is my favorite.

Every time I visit your blog my mind explodes with colors and I want to go create... Thanks for being so inspirational!

oh Alma I love this - love the colour! I am the world's crappiest knitter - I know how to do it but I am really, REALLY bad at it. Last year I tried to knit again and even my Mum, who is supposed to support me and is obliged as a parent I think to say "that's wnderful, darling", actually said "you're really not very good at this, are you?".

I'll leave it to your talents I think!!!!!

oh, that is wonderful. so squishy.
