This is what I made today....a crocheted hat for Baby Boy.
And the winner is....Nyx. The very talented Jennifer from Australia.
Congrats and enjoy the zine and goodie bag.
This is a ball of yarn I made a few years ago. It is made out of fabric, lace, yarn, trims etc...all tied and knotted together.
Here is a knitted sampling of what this kind of yarn looks like. Now, isn't this simply delish.
And I really like knitting with the wooden needles....these are by Crystal Palace in a size 8, but I knit it loosely.
I don't think I am going to turn this into a scarf. I might just knit a few more rows and use it in one of my fabric pieces.
I am open to the possibilities it offers.
What's with all the crochet you asked?
Well, I am working on a Crochet Zine. I feel I have something to say about it... so I'm jumping in.
It doesn't mean I am kicking my other zines to the curb....just giving it a break.
Though I appreciate simple and easy instructions like these Granny Squares, the zine will focus on more adventurous projects.
It is CROCHET gone mad, CROCHET as a series of silent oms (think meditation), CROCHET as a jagged little hook.
So far, that is what it looks like....though the end result might totally suck.
On a different note, I am so freaking revved.... my charity piece has had several bids.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Check out My Ebay and My Etsy Shop.
Thank you all.
I simply had to try these yarns. It is the new line of Earth-friendly yarns by Vickie Howell. Made out of renewable resources, 70% Bamboo and 30% silk....it is super sweet to work with.
The purple/cornflower blue one is called Ennis and Jack after Brokeback Mountain.
The yellow one is called Napoleon and Deb after Napoleon Dynamite.
Here is a sample of the Front Post Circle using Ennis and Jack.
These are made out of 100% wool yarn.
Here is a recap of my Wednesday charity pieces to support the For All Kids Foundation.
Week 1 is available on My Ebay Page. I can see that 5 people are watching it but NO BIDS YET.....Alma, sooooo sad.
Week 2 is available on My Etsy Shop. Check it out.
Probably the best issue of Crochet Today I have read in a long time.
The projects featured are challenging and interesting enough for an advance crocheter yet many are easy enough for a complete beginner.
If you are new to crochet, this is an issue to get.
I made these front post circles today and am sure that before the day/night is over, I'll have a few more done.
a few more ink drawings.
And if you have kids 5 or older, they might REALLY enjoy HOOT and you WILL enjoy ONCE.
I will be teaching at 4 retreats this year, so I have been burning the midnight oil to finish up with my sample pieces on time.
I will post pictures at some other time.
